In Beware of Hypocrisy, Dr. Waligurski summarizes the key historical events leading to the formation of modern church, with emphasis on the Catholic church, since you can’t talk about the history of the church without emphasis on the Catholic church, and also since he was brought up in it. He does a great job of comparing/contrasting the teachings of the church with the actual teachings of Jesus and his disciples from scripture. He explains the justifications that church leaders use for their teachings that contradict those in scripture, and exposes the failures in their logic…
Beware of Hypocrisy does an excellent job of calling all believers to action in standing up to corruption, and the place to start is in improving our knowledge and understanding of the scripture. I recommend this book as a good, quick, eye-opening read.

The plain and simple fact is that the modern church is in no way what Christ intended. That should be apparent to anyone who has bothered to read the teachings and commands of Jesus. The sooner we all wake up to that fact, the sooner God will work through us to restore His Church.
